I have tried so many options In case you still want to run the DOS version, you can execute it on DOSBOX but the performance is sometimes not good - Another option that you can do is to create another partition that has a DOS operating system I have one , if you interested in this option please note me and I'll tell you how. No joy Hopefully this will mean something to someone. I did it! I'm about to go out so I can't explain how - and i'm not sure if anyone has actually looked at this thread for months anyway If you have the same problem, however, just post here and I will give you a lengthy explanation but apparently no-one has had the same problem so it doesn't really matter.

I tried to dust off the old game and run it on XP using dosbox. The game starts, I can choose nation and name but after that it's stuck on the prelude just before the game starts the 'screenplay' where the ship leaves the port. Anyone seen this, and know what I can do about it? Gestur , Aug 21, To be honest, I don't know, but I've heard around that most problems resembling that kind of tings are, for some strange reason, a result of sound configurations.
First thing to try is to disable sound via the install program I'm afraid most people can never get sound to work on WIN or above. Thanks for the quick answer, but no luck I'm afraid. The problem is there even without any sound. If I try enough times it finally works like, 1 in 10 times. I have no idea what's going on, but as long as it runs I'm happy.
